All the matches till now of the TNPL 2019 has been very interesting and almost all the match result was really very surprising. The start of both Ruby Trichy Warriors and Chepauk Super Gillies team were not as satisfactory they would have liked it to be. They both lost the first and opening matches of this season. The match which will be played today is the match that both the teams have been looking forward to and have been expecting their first win of the season. The match today will be played at Indian Cement Company Cricket Ground, Tirunelveli. Neither of the teams was able to perform well in the previous seasons of the TNPL, especially Chepauk Super Gillies who won just a single match in the last season.
Ruby Trichy Warriors Team Composition:
Ruby Trichy Warriors were off to a good start in their previous match but all seem lost when they lost most crucial two points in the super over which cost them the match. The match played was a very close one and it became much more interesting in the super over.
The hard work from the Warriors can be seen through their performance. Srikanth Aniruddha was the main reason for their loss in the match, he scored two consecutive sixes in the super over resulting in their team winning and a heartbreaking loss for Ruby Trichy Warriors. Murali Vijay from Ruby Trichy Warriors was the only player who carried the entire team to the brink of victory. The match today is also very important for the team so he will be expected to play an important role in the match.
In the bowling section too they were at first off to a good start but lost their touch when they were unable to stop Karaikudi Kalaai from scoring big. The biggest factor in the loss of the team was lack of other batsmen to provide with a good partnership to Murali Vijay, who was able to score 81 in 56 balls.
Chepauk Super Gillies Team Composition:
Super Gillies also got off to a peculiar start. Their last match was a very close one but unfortunately, they lost the match. The bowling line of the Super Gillies was very good and was able to keep the target score down to a mere 115 which they would have chased nine out of ten times.
The weakest in the match was the batting line up of the Super Gillies which resulted in their loss. They kept losing wickets and lost three wickets in the first two overs. Although on paper their batting lineup was pretty good the lack of run contribution from their top order was the reason responsible for their loss.
